My mom's iPhone SE (2016) died... RIP to the best iPhone she has had. Now, she is looking to get an iPhone under $300. Is it worth buying an iPhone XR?
Take into account she uses it lightly. Mostly WhatsApp, calls, and some Instagram.

I'g still using an iPhone XR. Does corking. Only downside is the camera isn't as practiced every bit the current models or even my wife's XS Max. If that's not a concern it volition fit the need very well.

I had a XR from launch until I upgraded to the 12 Pro at launch. The XR was and still is a great phone especially for the toll it goes for now. All the same the photographic camera isn't keen compared to newer models and if you want to go the longest possible apply out of information technology I would personally go for a used 11. Information technology should get a year or 2 longer on updates, information technology has a improve dual camera and you can become them used for not much more than a XR.
If your looking for a telephone to last 5-6 years with updates yous'd exist best buying a 13 or 13 Mini.

iPhone XR has the same pixel density as the SE that she'due south coming from so I don't think she will accept whatever bug with the screen, I agree if an 11 can be sourced for a similar cost it's a slightly better phone but I still use my launch 24-hour interval XR and dear it

I had the XR and information technology was awesome, having said that if y'all tin can splurge a little, become for the xi it will probably have much greater longevity, mainly due to the increase to 4gb of ram from 3gb on the XR, the same as the latest iPhone and mini.
